Source 'Supplies' BikeStart with new equipment

Published: Thursday 16 March 2017 by CMPP

Local CMPP partner Source Supplies kindly donated over £2,500 worth of bike stands, racks and other bicycle equipment to BikeStart.

BikeStart is a local social bike project led by The Source Young People’s Charity. The Source charity cares for young people in difficulty in Rushmoor, Hart and surrounding areas. The Source have created an innovative initiative to help them raise funds to operate. BikeStart up-cycles, refurbishes and helps to maintain a range of cycling equipment from racks and stands to bikes themselves. Source Supplies generous donations has helped to fill up BikeStart’s eBay shop which is now flourishing with cycling goods.

Robert Mercer from BikeStart said We were surprised and grateful to be contacted by Ollie Rastall of Source Supplies in Camberley who offered to donate an extensive range of bike storage accessories to Bikestart. Ollie' company is one of a number of businesses that actively support charities in the area. We have now collected the items and posted them on eBay - hopefully they'll be snapped up and make a valuable contribution to The Source funding and through that greater support for young people. Thank you to Source Supplies for their generous contribution to our local community.”

Ollie Rastall, Director of Source Supplies, explained “We are passionate about cycling at Source Supplies and it’s been great to find a good home for all the bike equipment we have as surplus stock. As a member of Farnborough & Camberley Cycling Club, I’m keen to promote cycling in the Rushmoor area at any opportunity and I’m sure the good work that BikeStart do will continue to get bums on saddles.”

Jenna Grant, CMPP Operations Manager said: “I am so glad the equipment has gone to good use. CMPP is all about local companies supporting local communities and I am pleased Ollie was able to help such a worthwhile project. Hats off to Source Supplies for being a dedicated partner and for giving so much back to our local community.”

Cycling is a great way to get fit and get in your daily exercise. It’s great to see local companies promoting healthy living and cycling around North East Hampshire and Surrey.
