Grow Your Own Event at Farnborough Business Park

Published: Tuesday 13 June 2017 by CMPP

On Wednesday 7th June, Farnborough Business Park invited tenants and fellow companies from CMPP to 'Grow Their Own'. Attendees were planting herbs, hanging baskets and making beautiful fresh flower decorations.

Deborah Hayhoe, Senior Receptionist at Farnborough Business Park, said: "A very big thank you to all who took part and came to make this event such a success. In total we raised a whopping £500 for Rushmoor Borough Council's 'Megarider' Scheme."

The 'Megarider' Scheme was established by Rushmoor Borough Council to give low income families a chance to apply for a free Summer Holiday pass, entitling young people between 11-16 years to free bus travel and a range of leisure activities. Included in the pass is free swimming at Farnborough and Aldershot Leisure Centre.

Laura Wakefield, Employability Coordinator at The Sixth Form College Farnborough, said: "It was so lovely to be invited along to the 'Grow Your Own Event'! A group of us from the College popped down at Lunchtime and it was lovely to be out in the sunshine potting up herbs and flowers. Thank you to Farnborough Business Park for hosting the innovative fundraising event, we certainly had a great time and hope to see you back there next year!"

A HUGE thank you from CMPP to Farnborough Business Park and Rushmoor Borough Council!
