Over the course of Summer 2017, the superstar that is Darren Sibbald from The Village Hotel single handedly transformed a room at St. Bernadette's Primary School in Farnborough from a dull dreary space, into a bright fresh place that will harness creativity whilst providing a safe haven in which children can relax away from the general hussle and bussle of the school and process their emotions. Darren gave up nearly a week of his time to help achieve this amazing transformation!
Darren Sibbald comments, “It was a very rewarding and satisfying opportunity to give something back to the children of the local community . Although a relatively simple exercise and if honest a little rushed over a few weekends we got there in the end! My only regret was not being there with the children when they saw it for the first time. Thank you for helping me give something back!”
Jenna Grant, CMPP Operations Manager and Project Coordinator said, “A huge thank you to Darren and The Village for all his hard work on this project. It was apparent the volunteer, or volunteer team, would have their work cut out for them. The scuffed white walls were not very relaxing for the pupils at the school. Darren has exceeded all our expectations and transformed an important space into a vibrant and fresh place for students and staff to utilise!”
