BMW set the stage at their Starburst Theatre Academy Community Action Day

Published: Friday 16 August 2019 by CMPP

On Wednesday 14th August, a team of 17 volunteers from BMW gave their time to The Starburst Academy Aldershot. The team got stuck in straight away with papering and painting the walls and ceilings to help get the Theatre ready for opening in September.

The Starburst Academy will develop local children in the art and performance of Musical Theatre skills via the medium of dance, singing and acting. The academy will be built on and driven by strong core values, these being confidence, discipline, commitment, resilience, patience, integrity, and honesty. The aim is to develop transferable skills for their adult lives helping to forge careers and independence. They will reach out to various children including disadvantaged children from difficult backgrounds who would not normally undertake the arts due to domestic circumstances. What a great project!

Alice Edwards, from BMW said of the day "It was a real pleasure to spend the day helping to get the new academy ready for it's opening in September. We were very humbled to hear what the charity does to support local children through the performing arts. We're already planning to attend the panto in December for our Christmas team night out! Thank you to Starburst Foundation for having us"

Thank YOU Alice and team for volunteering your time! We are very proud that you are part of CMPP!
