Southwood Infant School applied to CMPP for some volunteers to help them with their project and our Community Action Day Coordinator placed the 15 volunteers from Alphabet with the school.
Luckily the sun was shining and the volunteers achieved everything the school needed, including painting benches, laying woodland path, cutting back trees and weeding flower and vegetable beds.
Nick Bartley, Head of Internal Sales; Public Sector from Alphabet said “We’re really pleased to have been able to support Southwood Infant School with the improvement of their grounds for the Spring and Summer terms ahead, and we had a great time as a team doing so – particularly as the weather stayed dry for us! Thanks again CMPP for arranging what was a successful and organised day for us all.”
Alison Padday, Admin Officer at Southwood Infant School said: "The team gave up a day in the office to tidy up our school grounds. The volunteers worked on a range of projects and thanks to their hard work the school grounds have been tidied up ready for the warmer weather. Our large planters have been weeded and planted, the Woodland Walk has been tidied and all our picnic benches have been repainted.
The staff and children would like to say a huge Thank you to all Alphabet staff who took part and achieved so much. Thank you to everyone who donated a can of paint. The children and staff are really proud of their school grounds and love learning in it."
Emma Thompson, Community Action Day Coordinator at CMPP said: Thank you to the 15 volunteers from Alphabet, you all achieved so much in one day which has benefited the school greatly. Thank you also to Southwood Infant School to making CMPP aware of your project, we are so pleased we were able to help you and organise this great team building day whilst helping a lovely local infant school"
