Pirbright School applied for some corporate volunteers through the CMPP website to help them complete their Nature Farm and CMPP’s Community Action Day Coordinator placed the five volunteers from BMW with the school to help with this fantastic project.
The team had a busy day and got straight to work laying concrete slabs for shed bases, building wooden planters for crops and plants on the farm, constructed pallet compost bins and paint and treat the new stable. They even found time to tidy the school site by transporting a large amount of materials around the school grounds.
Sam Kerry from BMW said: “The team had a great time and managed to get a lot done. The school were really happy”
Dan Smith, teacher and project lead at Pirbright School said: “We achieved so much in just one day with the volunteers! These jobs would have taken us many weekends to achieve and we did them very quickly indeed. The team form BMW were amazing! They achieved so much. Thank you!”
Emma Thompson, CMPP’s Community Action Day Coordinator said: “CMPP have been involved with Pirbright Schools Nature Farm from the beginning and we are so pleased to finally be able to arrange for corporate volunteers to help the school complete the project. We are really looking forward to seeing the end results when the farm is completed. A huge well done for Sam and team for all your hard work, you really have made a huge difference in just one day!”
