CMPP Partner and founding member, Aviator took the concept “fundraising for dummies” to a new height last week by raising a staggering £930.00 by auctioning off the hotel’s iconic Christmas mannequins.
The mannequins had been used by the hotel in their 2014 and 2015 Christmas campaigns and were ready to move onto a new destination but rather than give them away, the team at Aviator decided to auction off the eight mannequins, which were purchased from world-renowned mannequin manufacturer Hans Boodt to raise money for the local community.
Aviator listed the eight mannequins on the silent auction website Jumble Bee. The £930.00 raised will be donated to the Youth Aspiration Fund, developed by the Community Matters Partnership Project to support projects within the community that raise aspirations and encourage progression in young people.
Vickita Reddy, Marketing and PR Manager at Aviator said: “Since Aviator opened in 2008, we’ve been great supporters of our local community and when we were given the opportunity to become one of the founding members of CMPP in 2010, we relished it. The Project and all the life changing work it does in the local community has been very close to our hearts ever since, and it is an honour to play an integral part of a forward thinking social programme.”
Alongside raising money for the Youth Aspiration Fund, Aviator take part in a variety of volunteering and skills sharing projects to help raise aspirations and encourage progression in young people from work placements to careers fairs, school visits to inspirational school projects.
