CMPP fund school "Super Track" to help primary school pupils to keep fit

Getting Active for Positive Wellbeing!

Local school, Sandringham Infants and Little Badgers, provide a service to over 200 local children, hosting a brilliant learning space for its pupils. Headteacher, Mrs Katherine Money, applied for a Youth Aspirations Fund (YAF) that would enable them to get started on building their new outdoor running track, to make the school grounds even better.

The purpose of the track is to promote positive emotional, mental and physical wellbeing for all children using the schools groups. With technology increasing, Mrs Money wants to promote positive outside play and encourage students to get back outdoors, enjoying nature and all it has to offer.

The Youth Aspirations Fund has enabled this local establishment to gain funding for the inspirational super track that will promote positivity and wellbeing for many years to come. CMPP felt this particular project was extremely beneficial for youngsters as it’s targeting wellbeing from a young age.

The multi-use track is very robust and will be sustainable for years to come, allowing lots of children to enjoy the new facility. Sandringham School hope to utilise the track for outside learning and breaks and to encourage children to hop, skip, run, walk and use go-karts and bikes throughout each academic year.

Mrs Money added: "The track will help us to develop positive emotional, mental and physical wellbeing for all children at the School. We want to promote positive outdoor play and healthy lifestyles by encouraging children to balance time spent in the classroom with outdoor activities.  The track will be used for outside learning breaks, encouraging children to hop, skip, run, walk and use go-karts and bikes throughout the year, come rain or shine!"

Simon Jarvis, Principal of Farnborough Sixth Form College and CEO of The Prospect Trust officially opening the track on behalf of the CMPP Steering Group. He said: “It was a pleasure to open the track and to see the children running round, enjoying their new resource. At CMPP, we were particularly pleased to support a project which targets the well-being of our children from such a young age. I’m sure the track will provide fun and enjoyment for many more years to come. It is great to get out and see just how the CMPP companies are making a difference to local communities first hand.”
